juggling career, baby, and partner … who has time to be happy?!

The next theatrical offering from Hobart Rep is the award-winning comedy Stepping Out, written by Richard Harris and directed by Allan Jeffrey. In this highly entertaining play 7 woman and 1 man, all larger than life and wildly different characters, come together to learn to tap dance in preparation for a charity concert performance. Not only do they have to come to terms with their clumsy feet but with each other, both with hilarious results.

Will they succeed?….. Can they put on a dance concert to end all dance concerts?

The cast includes Dawn Lewis, Fransina Barnes, Belinda Schroter, Kerri-Louise Hooper, Richard Sparnon, Chelle Burtt, Pip Tyrrell, Sophie Tyrrell, Shae Thomas, and Emily Newton.

Released in 1991 as a feature film starring Lisa Minnelli and Shelly Winters, the play has universally been described as pure escapism and is a great night out for anyone who has ever taken up a class where talent was definitely not a criterion for joining!!!
