</strong>Presented for performers or dancers with some performance experience.<br />
<strong> Open Workshop - Sunday 25 May 10am - 4pm</strong><br />
Presented as an introduction to performance and ‘likay’.</p>

<p><font color="#ff6600"><strong>Workshop Information:</strong></font><br />
The workshops will provide an introduction to Makhampom theatre practices plus an insight into the distinctive Thai theatre form of ‘likay’.<font color="#000000"><strong> Let the Body Talk </strong></font>is an introduction to Makhampom’s intercultural physical performance style utilising theatre games.<font color="#000000"><strong> Thai Gesture and Dance-Drama </strong></font>is an introduction to the basic Thai likay (dance drama) gestures and stylised dance-drama movements.</p>
<p><font color="#ff6600"><strong>Facilitators</strong>:</font><br />
<strong> Pradit Prasartthong (Tua)</strong> is Makhampom’s Artistic Director and an internationally renowned facilitator, director, dancer, actor, and dramaturg.  Tua is respected for his work in the fusion of traditional and contemporary theatre styles and was recently recognised as Thailand’s leading national contemporary performing artist.</p>
<p><strong> Duangjai Hirunsri (Phiao)</strong> started with Makhampom as a high school volunteer, progressing to perform many lead roles in Makhampom productions while a theatre major at Thammasat University. Phiao is a versatile performer across contemporary and traditional Thai theatre.<br />
<strong><br />
Richard Barber </strong>was a member of Melbourne-based physical music theatre company Gonghouse for six years, developing skills in ensemble music, design, physical performance and group devising. He has worked in intercultural theatre in Asia for 15 years and recently completed his PhD in Performance Studies at Monash University.</p>

<p>The G&amp;S Society of Tas, in association with Allan Jeffrey and Leiz Moore, is pleased to announce auditions for the production of Disney&#8217;s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, to be performed at the Theatre Royal in November 2008.They are looking for singers/dancers/actors aged 18 years to &#8216;ancient&#8217;. There are 11 Principal roles and an ensemble of 20-24 people. Auditions will be held on Saturday 19th April. All the information you will need is contained in the audition kit available from Centertainment in Elizabeth Mall, or downloaded from <a href="http://www.beautybeast.com.au" target="_blank">www.beautybeast.com.au </a><br />
Music and script pieces you will need to prepare for your audition can be collected from Centertainment.</p>

<p>The competition commences on Thursday 26 June, and ends with the Nelle Ashdown Memorial Award at the Highlights Concert on Saturday 26 July.</p>
<p>The City of Hobart Eisteddfod has a long tradition of offering young performers the opportunity to explore and develop their potential in vocal and instrumental music and drama. They receive helpful and discerning reports from Australia’s finest adjudicators, and most of the classes have cash prizes.</p>
